THIS GAMEPAD IS NOT MADE OR ENDORSED BY ATARI
You are looking at a custom-made Gamepad that's shaped like the very popular NES / CX-78 GamePads.
I was tired of my Atari 7800 controller having issues every time I wanted to play it so I decided to 3D print my own GamePad housing and get some nice resin d-pad and buttons. I have 3D printed this in PLA with 20% infill to make it sturdy. The d-pad and buttons are printed with a resin printer they are cleaned and cured with a clean and wash system.
This has a custom-built PCB inside with the proper resistors to allow 1 and 2-button gameplay on the Atari 7800. This will also work on the Atari 2600 as a dual fire button. This has also been tested on the brand new Atari 2600+ and will work on Atari 7800 games as a 2-button gamepad. Please note that if you still have the original firmware, the buttons might be swapped around as that is an issue with the fw and not the gamepad. If you update the fw to the latest one, that will solve the issue.
This will work for the ATARI 7800 as dual buttons and on Atari 2600 both buttons will do the same function.
All parts on this are brand new - new PCB, new conductive silicone button pads, new 9-pin din 6ft cable and the case is 3D printed on an FDM printer, and the d-pad and buttons are printed with resin.
Due to the overwhelming response to requests to have a 2 button controller/gamepad, I decided to design my gamepad for the 7800 and offer these for purchase. This is for people who are looking for a better way to play their classic Atari games without paying $100+ for an old CX-78.
These gamepads are also compatible with the Atari Flashback, Atari 2600, Atari 2600+, and several other systems as they have a standard 9-pin connector.
I also have dual-button Sanwa clone sticks if you would prefer that instead, please look at my other items for sale.
Please note that these are 3D printed and not plastic molded there may be some imperfections as they are not 100% perfect.

(write review)Amazing high quality creation with great response!
"I was looking for a 2 button option for Atari 7800 games now that I can play them on my Atari 2600 but I was tired of using joystick/arcade style controllers which I usually make on my own. This cool little gamepad controller is custom printed and includes OGHugo's own membrane activated PCB interface to convert button presses. In the hand it feels a lot like an NES controller which is what I was looking for. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the controller itself, since sometimes 3d printed objects can have jagged edges, but this controller shell has been printed to what seems to be pretty high precision. The resin printed buttons are a great touch and seem like they'll hold up to a lot of use. I tested this on my original 2600 jr and my 2600 with both 2600 and 7800 games and it works as it should for both, and feels great. Especially at this price point, I feel like this is such a cool option to have for an alternative to joystick-based controls for these consoles." Jeffrey Jones Jr - Monday, March 3, 2025
